Privacy Policy
Stokewise is a ski forecasting app and service made by Untracked Research LLC ("we"). This policy says what we collect, why, who else handles it, and how you delete it. Questions go to support@stokewise.com.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google or an email code, we receive your email address, your name if the sign-in provides it, and an account identifier from our sign-in provider.
- Your settings. Favorite resorts, units, home screen layout and alert preferences.
- Trips you save. The trip's name and what you set for it, such as dates, regions and where you travel from.
- Notification tokens. If you allow notifications or Live Activities, the tokens Apple gives us to deliver them.
- Reports you send. Your verdict on a forecast and any note you write.
- Requests to our service. Our servers log each request, with the time, the address it came from, the app build and your account identifier. We use these logs to run and secure the service.
What we do not collect
- Your location. The app uses your location on your device to show nearby mountains and to notice when you leave one. Your location is not sent to us.
- Advertising or tracking data. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking software, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
How we use it
To sign you in, keep your favorites and trips, send the alerts you ask for, rank your trips, improve our forecasts, and keep the service working and secure.
Reports become anonymous observations
When you send a report, the snow observation in it (the resort, the day, and what the forecast got right or wrong) is stored separately from your account, with nothing that identifies you. We use these observations to check and improve our forecasts. Your note and the link between the report and your account stay with your account, and are deleted with it.
Who else handles your information
- WorkOS runs sign-in and stores your sign-in account.
- Google, if you sign in with Google.
- Apple delivers notifications and Live Activities.
- Cloudflare carries traffic between the app and our servers.
- OpenAI reads the note in a report to turn it into structured observations. It receives the note, not your name or email.
- SerpApi looks up flight and lodging prices for saved trips. It receives places and dates, not your identity.
If you connect Stokewise to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, that assistant's provider handles your conversation under its own privacy policy. We receive the requests the assistant makes to Stokewise on your behalf.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app's profile, or by writing to support@stokewise.com. Deleting your account deletes everything tied to you: your account, settings, trips, notification tokens, and your reports' notes. Anonymous snow observations stay, because nothing in them leads back to you. Server logs are overwritten as they fill and are not kept long-term.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your settings and trips in the app, turn notifications off in iOS Settings, and ask us at any time for a copy of your information or for a correction. We answer within 30 days.
Where your information is processed
We and the services above process information in the United States.
Children
Stokewise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date above, and we tell you in the app before a change that affects how we use information you already gave us.
